The story of Converse:

Converse got their name because the designer was Marquis Converse. They were design in 1908 but in those days they weren’t good as a sport shoes. Because the first Converses were made of rubber and canvas.

Around 1920s, they improved the material of the shoes, and then they were good for basketball players. They became a bit popular when they promoted some of the players. Later, it was the official NBA shoe. And a lot of artists and musicans wore them then. In those days converse was the most popular shoe all around the world.

By the end of the millennium they weren’t so much popular. But then the company was sold to Nike in 2003 and the Converse started to became famous again with young people. They sold around 950 million of pairs in 2008. Now a day they are produced in many different styles, colours, sizes... And they are worn by people of all ages.
