Hey and welcome everybody to my oral presentation! As usual every single summer is special and amazing but this one has been the best! I hope that next summer is goin gto be brilliant like this one!
I'm going to talk first about my camp experience in the United States, and few days in Seattle, and after my summer holidays with my family.
On 29th of June, Ivet and I left to Seattle, because we were going to spend a month in a summer camp in Orcas Island. The camp is called Orkila, and it's pretty close to Seattle. Before we went to the camp we spent a few days with more guys from Barcelona in the hous of the director of a family program in Seattle, Jennifer. What could I say about that weekend? It was the best weekend of my whole life! We had a lot of fun, we visited the awesome city.. The first session of the camp started on July, 3rd. Everyone was rreally sad to leave Seattle 'cause just in a few days we were really united! But also I was happy 'cause I was going to a summer camp, and it would be amazing too.
When we arrived to the Island by Ferry we went to the camp by bus, the arrival was really funny. All the staff was singing the YMCA camp cheer. It was amazing. We didn't know that we were going to a kayak expedition, so when they told us we were going into that group I was like: this is a joke? are you kidding? But it wasn't. We were going to circum navigate in 2 weeks Orcas, paddling every day, sleeping with tarps, with no showers and compost toilets... The last part was kind of gross I know. Also I'm really glad that we couldn't call our parents complaining about our situation 'cause there we didn't have cell phones, but I'm really glad we couldn't because after that experience I cans say that it's the best thing I've ever done.
Our first group was called ''Shaggy Belugas'' and we met Paulina, Koy, Andy and Maddie. Thanks to them that make us really happy and excited to go to the trip the first day! We went to Point Daugthy, Sucia, Matia, Clark, Doe, Obstruction, Blind, John's and finally the camp. In that awesome experience we became at the end like a family, we learnt how to listen, help, to be more kind, and don't complain all day about things you don't like, in a few worlds they taught us how to be a great person. We ate too much s'mores, we sang around the fire, we did a lot of crazy games.. It was fantastic. Finally we went back to camp, okey in that moments one of my biggest dream, it is a challenge to circum navigate Orcas and also 'cause finally I could have a shower! At the end of the two weeks I was really sad to say goodbye to my friends.
On Saturday we met our new group, we were in a LDI program then. The group was bigger and we would stay a week at camp and another week in a kayak expedition again.. All of them were from Seattle, except a Chinese girl! Its really wierd 'cause there was 8 people from other countries in the camp between 400 American kids and we were 2 in the same group!
With the LDI we did a hiking trip to twin lakes, we slept over there an dthe next day we woke up at 4am for walk to the top of the highest mountain in Orcas, Mt Constitiution! There we enjoy the best and wonderful sunrise I've ever seen before. The rest of the week we did a lot of activitites at camp, gain swing, gaint leader, the circuit, play with kids.. We became great friends and we had too many funny stories to remeber and I won't forget them! The expedition was awesome too.
In a few days we were in the closing camp fire, what? Yes the month had gone in a few seconds, when I was there in the closing campfire I was asking myself if never before the time had gone that fast, actually my answer was NO. There in a camp with no cell phones, or other electronic devices, with no money, without anything just with the nicest people ever! It made me realize that it's better , you have more fun and it's amazing. But I should go back home, I cried so much when I said goodby to my friends 'cause just in a few weeks that people became real friends like friends for all your life. And know I'm with 9 hours of difference of time.
When I arrived here I spent two weeks in Torre Valentina. It was amazing with my friends there, I will not forget that. And then I went to China with my family. It was fantastic. I learnt a lot about their culture and we visted many things. We first stay in Shanghai, then Xi'an and finally Beijing. I visited Terracotta warriors, also the Great Wall, many temples, the Forbidden City but the part I loved more was that I met my camp friend form China in Beijing!! I was really happy to meet one of my campfriends there!
After my holidays in China, I came back to Banyoles when I only stayed for 12 days before the school started and I hang out with friends and having much fun. This summer had been really awesome I wish I could be in Seattle again with all my friends, or at camp! But now I'm here trying to finish the school as fast as possible and go back to my CAMP!
